Fitness and Aikido

Iaido and Kendo

Iaido is the Japanese art of drawing and cutting with the sword. Think 'quick draw'.

Kendo is the martial sport of fencing, conducted with shinai—split bamboo swords.

Ju-jutsu

Ju-jutsu, literally the "way of softness or yielding", traditionally included all the Japanese empty-handed fighting techniques. Those unarmed techniques included strikes and kicks, and as well as joint locks and throws.

Aikido, judo, and Brazilian jiu-jitsu all originated from ju-jutsu; Daito-ryu aiki-jujutsu, in the case of Aikido.
